Bike Description
SRAM 1 x 11 child's cyclocross bike with lots of marks on the frame from a year of hard riding. Hydraulic brakes and 700C Duke wheels with a Donnelly 700 x 33 front tyre and Terra 2Bliss rear tyre. Was absolutely covered in mud when stolen.Theft Description
Taken from rear bike carrier while parked up. Remote country road and was only in next field but out of sight.Recovery Description
The bike was advertised on ebay after 6 months in the wilderness. I didnt spot it as the description was not great but an ebay viewer liked the bike so looked it up on a search engine and saw it matched the stolen one on stolen-bikes.co.uk and contacted me. The police in two counties supported our effort to obtain it and once we had an address did a door knock to find the item. Only advice is that you will spend many hours on hold on 101 especially with two separate counties Hampshire and Hertfordshire.. Be patient keep at it forgive mistakes, appreciate that the police are doing a good job and in the grand scheme of things how your bike might be lower priority than serious crime.
