Recovery Description

I found my bike being sold on eBay in the next county. The Northptonshire Police were brilliant. They worked with the Leicestershire Police and myself to recover the bike and make investigations. However I had to contact the seller, pose as as customer and be invited into the property to identify the bike as mine. The police were right behind me and followed me in. Once I'd I'D'd the bike with the frame number and providing my ownership paperwork to the police I was given the bike back. Sadly it was slightly damaged but the insurance covered the repairs. Apparently the guy selling it had 'innocently' purchased it from a seller on Facebook! The police pursued this and found FB evidence of this but he KNEW it was a stolen bike - bought it for £200 to sell for £450 and you don't know its stolen!?!? I don't think so. That and the fact there was at least 15 other bikes in the garden indicates a little 'network' of bike theives. I have my lovely Myka back and I'm a happy bunny!
