Recovery Description

Thanks to this wonderful site I have located my stolen bike being offered on both Ebay and Gumtree. Unfortunately without my new Hunt carbon wheels and other bits, but immaculately cleaned nonetheless. Arranged to meet the seller Carl, who turned out to be a rather pleasant Spanish chap, who was slightly taken aback when I reclaimed the bike but nonetheless kept the peace as we both called the police to complain about each other. The police took so long to come that the poor Southerner got cold and called the Transport police who were right next door anyway, so sure he was that I can't prove the bike's ownership. When the officer checked the bike frame number against my shop receipt (Thank you, Evans Cycles for your amazing foresight!!) Carl's face turned pale and I left him to help the police with their enquiries, as I rode away on my trusty carbon bike again! So if you haven't done so already, *PLEASE* turn your bike over NOW and take a picture of that frame number underneath. Without it you can't ever get it back, and the bikes are so easily stolen.
