Theft Description
I live in a block of flats above which we have our own dedicated car parking space. The car parking space bay is semi enclosed and not visible from the street, but it is open access (not gated).
I have bolted down a U frame bike stand to the concrete floor and locked up the bike with two D locks (Kryptonite Evolution Standard Lock and Abus Granite 540)
Thieves entered our premise at approximately 03:45 on Wednesday 19th May and used angle grinders to cut through the locks. I could here mechanical cutting noises from my bed but dismissed it because I was more concerned about getting a goods night sleep.
This was a targeted professional job as they clearly did not want my partners lower valued bike, even when they had the opportunity to cut through the lock and steal it. Likewise there were bikes in other bikes with less theft prevention which were not stolen.
