Bike Description

Electric cargo bike - 'normal' shape bike with an extended rear end. There are front and rear pannier racks in a distinctive orange colour. When stolen the bike had Riese and Muller full-sized black panniers attached to both sides of the rear rack. On top of the rack was a custom made bike carrying rack - effectively a plank of wood with a fork clamp located 1/3rd of the way along the plank. This plank extends past the end of the factory pannier rack. The bike has a Gates Carbon Belt drive, with hub gear, and a Shimano Steps motor - there is an internal, and external battery for the system. The bike has a light on the handlebars, and one integrated in to the rear rack, and there was also a small Exposure rear light on the bike. It was stolen with a Hiplok mini D-lock still locked to the top tube - this has a black shackle, and bright yellow locking unit. The bike has SR Suntour suspension forks, with reflectors on the forward facing aspect of the fork legs.

Theft Description

The bike was taken from inside an office block car park. The thief was caught on CCTV sniffing around for a while, before walking in, looking at bikes in a bike rack, and then snipping the lock. There was another lock between the frame and rear wheel, which the thief didn't initially see, and so once the first lock was cut, he then had to carry the bike out of the carpark, as it wouldn't roll.
