Stolen Go outdoors Calibre

Bike Description

A high performance commuter bike, offering a comfortable and speedy ride.

The Calibre Filter Flat-Bar Road Bike is fast, lightweight hybrid that adapts high performance road components for urban use.

It all starts with the frame, which is constructed from the same stiff, lightweight 6061 double-butted aluminium tubing found on high-end road racers. Combined with a carbon fibre fork, this means quick, easy acceleration and responsive handling while weaving through city streets. The compact frame geometry, however, is designed specifically for commuter use with flat handlebars. The rider position is more upright for greater comfort and the wheelbase is lengthened for extra stability. The carbon fork contributes to an even plusher ride quality by absorbing road vibration as you roll along.

What really sets this bike apart from a standard road bike is the flat, mountain bike handlebars. The Truvativ Stylo aluminium bars fitted to the Filter are 600mm wide - about 200mm wider than standard road drop handlebars - for extra stability and totally assured steering. A pair of alloy bar ends provide extra purchase during out-of-the-saddle efforts and offer additional hand positions to help your arms stay fresh on longer rides.

16-speed drivetrain with quality components from Shimano's Sora and Acera groupsets performs quietly and efficiently, with smooth, reliable gear changes. A compact 50/34 chainset and an 11-28 cassette mean a wide range of gears for cruising and climbing alike.

The bike rolls on Calibre's own semi-aero alloy road wheels. Built with 28 spokes, they offer the perfect balance between speed and durability for pothole-strewn city roads. The wheels are shod with 28mm Freedom Thick Slick tyres. Higher volume 28mm tyres are comfier and grippier than standard road tyres and the Thick Slicks are constructed with a double-thickness tread for extra durability and puncture protection.

No part of the build has been forgotten and quality components are present throughout. Tektro alloy V-brakes offer superb braking performance in all weather and have plenty of clearance for both mudguards and larger volume road tyres. FSA provide the stem, seatpost and chainset and a Selle Royal Seta saddle is the icing on the cake. Together with the lightweight frame and fork, these performance components contribute to a total bike weight of just 11kg.

The Calibre Filter is ideal for anyone wanting to shave time off their ride to work and makes such light work of the daily commute, that you'll be itching to take it out on the road at the weekend too.

*We highly recommend heading into store for a fitting when considering purchasing any new bike.
