Stolen Gazelle Esprit Belt S7 High-Step

, York, Foss Islands Retail Park

Bike Description

I am the owner of the Gazelle Esprit Belt S7 High-Step bike. It has a pine green 54cm frame. I bought it from Cycle Heaven at 31 Hospital Fields Road on 23/08/2023 at 9:22am. The serial number was 12848426. It had a cycle heaven sticker towards the bottom of the frame. It was a unique bike in the sense that it had a rubber tread instead of a normal bike chain. It had a bike bell integrated into the handlebars on the left side. It also had lights at the front and back which were integrated into the frame, and were powered by the movement of the pedals. The bike bags on the back were navy blue with a blue and pink patch of a norse hammer, and the zips on the bags were locked with small padlocks. The bike was partly paid for using a cycle to work scheme which gave me a voucher with £478, which I am still paying off. The total cost of just the bike was £999. The bike also had multiple accessories, including a pair of custom bike bags worth £80, a gold standard bike lock worth £50, a phone holder worth £10, valve LED lights worth £7, and valve adapters worth £5. There were also a pair of waterproof trousers inside one of the bike bags which cost £20. The total monetary value of the bike at the time of the theft was approximately £1,171.00

I had put the bike against one of the posts that are there for you to lock the frame to, but was in such a rush that after I took my shopping bag out of the bike bags that I forgot to then attach the lock. I was in the store for perhaps 5 minutes, but by the time I came outside a little after 18:30 it was gone. I spoke briefly to workers at the store as well as a customer who offered to post pictures in a local cycling group on facebook, then contacted the police</span></span>
