Bike Description

As-new 1987 (ish) Centurion road bike. Shimano SIS groupset, an early version of the Shimano 105, Biopace chainwheel, Shimano SLR brakes. Pretty much as it left the factory, apart from recently re-wrapped handlebars. Almost identical to the picture, except for plain tyres and no rear reflector. My local bike shop reported that the man who tried to sell it to them bent the front fork in the 200 yards between my flat and the shop. It's a very rare bike in the UK, as Centurions were manufactured in Japan for the US market, and never officially sold here.

Theft Description

Stolen from a locked storage unit in the stairwell of my block of flats, Bethnal Green, East London. Thief didn't know what was behind the door he crowbarred open, so he's not a professional bike thief. He tried to sell it in my borough. Two local bikes shops have seen it. Thief seems to have tried to ride the bike and crashed it because my local bike shop told me it was damaged when he tried to sell it to them. Despite spending 5 hours hanging out at Brick Lane market yesterday, I did not see the bike. The thief doesn't seem to have the means or aptitude to sell the bike online.
