Bike Description

An older style black Brompton (circa 1997) model T5. It has the original 5 speed Sturmey Archer Sprinter hub and rear rack. Gear change is a single five position shifter. The dynamo lights were replaced with battery lights with fittings for these fixed on the handle bars and the rear rack. The original "U" shaped bars have the Brompton stiffener between the uprights; if this has been removed there may be a sudden failure of the alloy handlebars with potentially serious consequences. The handlebars are likely to show marks of where the bar was fitted. There are a number of distinctive features. The rack has been fitted with skateboard wheels, replacing the original Brompton rollers. The rear mudguard broke and has been repaired. The front mudflap has been replaced with a home made, shaped piece of damp proof membrane (it look a like a textured piece of black plastic). There is a folding pedal on the left hand side but all the pedal reflectors broke and have been removed. The saddle had a rip on the right hand side and has been repaired with an oval of black Duct Tape which has moved slightly to leave a white edge to it. When stolen there was a small black open top bag with red trim attached to the saddle.
