I had locked my bike with my Kryptonite lock, through the frame, to a lamp post on a busy pavement, just outside of the University of Edinburgh Pollock Halls of Residence. Many pedestrians were walking past, so I thought it would be safer than locking it somewhere where someone could steal it out of sight from anyone. The lock was a Kryptonite Kryptolok Standard U-Lock With 4 Foot Kryptoflex Cable (Sold Secure Gold U-Lock). I came back to where I locked my bike 1 hour 20 minutes later, and the bike and lock were gone.
