Recovery Description

I set email alerts on eBay and Gumtree so that I'd know when a bike of the same description as mine came up for sale. About 6 weeks after the theft of the bike I got an alert from Gumtree that a Specialized Tricross had been put up for sale. The picture matched my bike, although any identifying features I'd added such as mudguards had been removed. I got in touch with the seller, arranged to come and see the bike, and brought my receipt complete with frame number, and some backup (2 male friends) in case of any trouble. The police had said they'd only be able to help once I'd identified the bike as mine. I recognised a small tear on the handlebar tape as soon as I got there, and quickly checked the frame number against my receipt. It matched, and the seller then didn't have much choice but to hand it over. The best day of my entire year!
