I lock my silver Trek FX 2 bike to an attached pipe outside my flat with a kryptonite lock. (The flat is located on the fourth floor, and its entrance is on the building's exterior.) The bike is covered with a black rain cover, which is held down with bricks to keep it from blowing away. I last rode it on Tuesday, 15 December and returned around 12.30pm. I left the flat on Wednesday, 16 December and my partner, who lives with me in the flat, left on Thursday, 17 December around midday. Neither of us remember noticing that the bike was missing at the time we each left and returned to the flat. When we left the flat around 8pm on Friday, 18 December, we saw that the bike, lock, and rain cover were all gone.Recovery Description
I was contacted by a woman who bought the bike not knowing it was stolen and then reported it to the police after she searched the serial number. Had to travel to recover the bike from the police station but well worth it!
