Bike Description
A small, blue with grey-silver towards the stem, mountain bike from 2001. 26" wheels with, not matching, good tyres, Caliper brakes and 16" frame shown in picture with a gel cover for seat . The quick release black saddle underneath actually was from a later bike and had bright pale green wedge shapes in it. Pannier rack at back with old style leather buckle material panniers as shown. reflector on back of pannier. Mudguards as shown with rear one under the pannier rack and I fashioned a way of screwing the mudguard to the pannier rack so it did not bounce or rattle. Straight handle bars with bell also a bottle rack on lower part of frame. Finally its got my name Katrina on both sides of the frame on the top bar in large white writing. Though actually one side the K is missing.Theft Description
It was locked with a chain in a locked brick room at the base of a block of flats in Feltham Middlesex. The dooor lock was forced and the chain was cut. Two other bikes were also taken. I had put together this bike for a friend. It is her only transport. It was made from the best bits of mine and my late husbands old bikes on which we had enjoyed many holidays cycling across England and from Dover to Edinburgh. It is the sentimental effort and friendship that this bike represents that makes this theft so heart breaking.
