Bike Description
The bike is a men bike vintage from the 50s, equivalent to a Mustang or Bentley, perfectly preserved in its original features. It has baby blue handle bar tape with two white stripes as a distinction. The bike crossed the Atlantic, made in Chicago, bought in Brooklyn, with its wheels vandalised in Williamsburg one night, and with me for 15 years of faithful companionship.Theft Description
"At about 2.45 pm two men, one tall black, short hair puffer jacket, and the other short, hunched, red tartan scarf over his head – passed the house, checked phone at gate and went into 45 Tudor Road E97SN, Wednesday 28 April. They then both came out, the short guy ignoring the tall guy. The tall guy was yelling at the traffic warden about a Seat parked on corner of Tudor Road. Rego KN69 LYD. The short guy headed toward London Fields. The tall guy came up past the house at 2.55pm with another man, with a hat, who went into 45 Tudor Road for perhaps 3 to 5 minutes. They came out. The tall guy was on a bike, the short guy picked up a bike against the wall beside the car. He then checked the rear car door was unlocked, and then the two of them rode off north up to Mare Street, leaving the car unlocked. At 3.30, another person, a woman, got in the car and drove it away.
Of the three men, the tall man was dark skinned – perhaps West Africa/Caribbean descent, he was wearing camouflage pattern trousers. The man with the scarf over his head, I could not see his face. The third man which is the man Didi saw - light brown skin, not Caucasian or Asian, had a face sagged or was less responsive on one side – a possible stroke or sign of substance abuse. I did not see him steal a bike – but he had one when the tall man stole the bike, and did not have one earlier. The manner in which the two men–– one described as ’short’, and the third man behaved suggested they were substance abusers, heroin or booze. This distinguished them from the tall man, who moved fluidly as a healthy man."
