Bike Description

Raleigh All Steel gents bicycle. Same model as in picture but with slightly different details. Made in 1962. Dark Green. General light rust and scuffs all over. Sit up and beg style. Full working order.

Wayfarer handlebars with black handgrips.

Silver coloured bell on left.

Silver and black rubber torch for front light held on with two jubilee clips on wrapped around inner tube.

4-speed Sturmey Archer gear lever on right with outer cable fed partway along cross bar then inner cable only round pulley and down to rear hub.

Cable brakes with black outer cables. Rear brake secured at rear with both soldered nipple and grip nut.

Mudguards with integral dark green stays. Front mudguard has replacement nosecone of tapered wooden dowel painted with green floor paint. Rear mudguard has red reflector.

Two black plastic pannier bag guards made from a chainsaw chain case and clipped to rear frame either side of wheel.

Traditional black saddle. Rear wheel hub stamped 62.

Rear rack with red-taped wooden spacer in frame. 6-position back light attached off-set to rear of rack on wrapped around inner tube.

Full chain case, but missing lower rear quadrant, dented from front underneath for much of length.

Brand new Butcher’s Block black tyres, and new tubes with Schrader valves.

New cotter pin on right, deeply sunk.

V-shaped notch cut into right hand pedal crank to prevent scuffing on rim of circular insert plate of chain case.

Wheel hub lubrication holes - in rear closed by a cross head screw, in front by a spring clip.

Adjustable sprung bike stand fitted on left by bottom bracket; tends to snag left pedal slightly during riding unless pushed fully inwards.

Theft Description

Wheeled away from Snodland Co-Op street door, by child possibly too small to ride it, at about 19.50 on 28 August 2023. Caught on CCTV.
