Stolen Decathlon B’twin Tilt 500

, Saturday 14th May, morning approx 7am

Bike Description

This was a well-used commuter bike. There is scratching on the seat post between 11 and 14. Its folding magnet had broken on one side. It had a handlebar pannier attachment. Rear light attachment on seat post was for cobbler 360 mini. Front light attachment was for a cat eye. The standard decathlon rear light was broken off during the theft.

Theft Description

Crowbar appeared to be used to break into wooden panelled communal bike shed. Bike had been removed from where it was locked (gold secure) to racking bars set into the concrete floor. Rear light had been dismantled with batteries strewn across the floor where the bike had been. The bike had only been moved into this bike shed the previous weekend, and had been used daily during the week for commuting. Saturday morning was first day the bike had remained in the bike shed. Theft appeared to be timed for when gates to communal areas opened (they are locked 7pm-7am). Bike shed observed ok when neighbour left for work at 7am, and was found compromised at 8.25am. No other bikes within the shed were stolen, despite some being of high value. Police comment that bike may have been stolen to order.
