Bike Description

It is a Dan Shotton tailor made racing bike with a 21” frame and a Campagnola headset

The frame number is DAN 139-2-83This is engraved on the underside of the bottom bracket.
It has the letters “DS” engraved, one above the other, in the top eyes of the seat stays. (see photo of detail on a friend's bike: "example of DS on seat stays.jpg“)
The paint finish is a pale metallic turquoise and the bike has white cable housing , handlebar tape and break lever hoods (old, tatty and dirty).
The break levers are dimpled - see sketch
The tubing is Reynolds 531 although I can’t remember if the label is still on the frame.
The racing saddle is suede but scraped and worn
It has lightweight alloy track drop handle bars and small alloy serrated peddles (now without toe straps)
It has side pull breaks (“Weineman", I think)
It has 2 metal gear leavers fitted directly into either side of the down tube , controlling the front and rear deraillers.
It has vertical dropouts front and rear and quick release wheels.
The wheels are narrow section track  (possibly “Mavic", I think) with relatively new 700c tyres
