Taken from the Center Parcs car park area C5 whilst locked to another bicycle which was a Center Parcs hire bike #F3566Recovery Description
The thief who took my bike on 31 Jan blatantly used it and the bike it was attached to, to ride around the Center Parcs site but only apparently at night. I had kept on the look out for my bike when walking around the site during the day, all the time thinking the perpetrator would not be foolish enough to use it at all and I had lost it for good. On going to dinner at around 1830hrs on 1 Feb, I stumbled upon my bike in one of the cycle parks. I could not believe it! It was locked to the hire bike which had been stolen at the same time as mine. Together with CP Security, we confirmed it was definitely mine, unlocked the bikes and I took my bike away. CP Security locked up the hire bike with one of their locks so that it could not be used. They are still monitoring this bike (as am I, in an attempt to catch the person responsible. You couldn't make it up!!!! My advice is when locking up your bike - use a double lock if possible and lock it to something immovable and choose a open or busy place or even one with CCTV coverage. Mind you, anything could happen as demonstrated in this case.
