Bike Description

Red Carrerra Vanquish bike. In good condition as it was only bought in January 2022. The standard seat had been changed to a more comfortable variety. The standard pedals had been changed to flat pedals.

The bike had various accessories: Front light, back light, mudguards, phone holder.

I added a piece of black sticky tape with silver foil to the bike when I first bought it to provide a unique feature. This is located on the underside of the frame next to the pedals cog.

The bike had an 'Immobibike RFID Bicycle Security Tag' included in the seat post shaft, and a sticker on the inside of the frame.

Theft Description

My bike was locked up securely in its usual location outside my home on the evening of Saturday 20 August 2022. I left my home on Sunday 21 August 2022 at 11am and discovered the bike was missing. Part of the structure used to hang the bike up had been removed and left on the street outside where a car was previously parked that evening. Suggesting the theft took place in the morning.

The theft occurred from a small private alleyway along the side of home address. The access to this alleyway is partially covered by wheelie bins. The alleyway is a dead end and does not lead anywhere. The only purpose of the side passage / alleyway is to store my bike, so I am the only person who would access this area.

The bike was locked in this location as usual. It had been kept securely from January 2022 until 22 August 2022 without issue. The bike had a D-lock and chain attached to a wooden support post (immovable) and was covered by a black bike cover.

The alleyway was covered without any natural light and so the black bike cover meant it was not obvious if walking by on the street what, if anything, was stored down the alleyway.

I live on the first floor of 7 Lena Gardens. The alleyway is on the ground floor outside. I did not hear or see anything suspicious when returning to my house the day before on Saturday 20 August around 3pm, nor overnight.

I first discovered the theft when I left my house on Sunday 21 August at around 11am.
