Bike Description
The bike is very good condition. Black saddle with dark grey detail. Ergonomic handlebar grip. Small black bell on LHS. Black water bottle holder. On the seat tube there was a holder for a bike pump and also one for holding a bike lock, but may have been removed. Had front and rear lights, but they may have been removed by now.Theft Description
Locked up outside of Strathclyde University Andersonian library at 12 noon. Return to go home at 5:30pm and it was gone. Reported to the police. *UPDATE* Got the theft on camera but their face was unclear. According to Strathclyde Uni security this is a common occurence. The thieves are hooded, take the bike and cycle it up to the student halls security barrier at Rottenrow before removing their jacket and then cycling off down High St. Found the bike on Gumtree for sale in Cheshire 3 days later. Arranged to meet the seller and I spoke to Cheshire Police to request assistance for when I collected it. They were helpful, but unfortunately the bike was sold before I even left Glasgow to go and get it. Oh well! It is apparent to security that a gang of bike thieves operate in the area and, due to my personal experience, bikes are then transported down south in bulk and sold on.
