Bike Description
This is a bamboo bike I bought from Cambodia (where I used to live) and shipped home with me when I moved back. I'd customised it with Marathon Schwalbe tyres, RS400 wheels, and Shimano gears and brakes. It was a bit of a beaut and is quite distinctive - there just aren't that many bamboo bikes in the UK yet (especially compared to East Asia!) The frame was about 58, had drop handlebars that were black taped, and a small badge on the front from the Brown Jersey Bikes company in Sydney who helped me convert it from single speed to geared.Theft Description
It was locked up on Kingsland Road just north of the bridge over the canal with an Abus steel o flex lock. The thieves took the lock with them so there was no evidence at the scene. It happened between 3pm and 5pm on Saturday 19th August 2017.
