Theft DescriptionBetween the hours of 1.30 - 2pm we visited Tynemouth, Northumberland . I parked on a pay and display car park which is more or less straight opposite the Castle ruins / Priory. In the time frame of only 15-20minutes - walking up to the Castle, my Trek was stolen, moving the rain cover out of the way or fully removing it, cutting my cable lock off and repositioning the rain cover as though it was still there. Only travelling down the road did I notice it was flapping in the wind far too much, due to there being nothing underneath it. This area seemed a very nice place to come and visit, plenty of friendly people, nice bars, cafes etc and due to it being a Bank Holiday, a lot of people were out enjoying a little sun. However Bank Holidays and certain areas like these, have obviously been taken into account by opportunists who don't work for a living, but enjoy catching motorists 'off-guard' and stealing their prized possessions, whilst they are taking some time out of their, busy WORKING week.
