Recovery Description

I identified my bike on sale on Gumtree and passed on all detailed information to police who were not pulling out their finger to do anything and the OIC never contacted me in all of the 2 weeks he/she was allocated my case. If you want a job done do it yourself ! So, I contacted the seller myself and met him to have a test ride. I had alerted the police on the platform at Clapham Junction station about my mission. When I identified it as my bike from the frame number I phoned 101 who said I had an hour's wait for the police to arrive ! I phoned my friend to say: yes it's mine ! He waiting with the dumb seller outside the station. I was too nervous to return to the station as I was not confident about how safe I was going to be. My friend excused himself from the seller to get a drink and went to tell the police. The seller got cold feet and left. The police later told me that as I had not returned with the bike to verify that it was mine they had no option but to let him go. What a load of tosh. ! I have the seller's Whatsapp's photo of the seller and have found him on Facebook and have sent all the pictures to the police. I am not holding my breath that anything will come off it ! The police could have resolved it as I did within 24 hours instead of the six weeks its taken . Disappointing !
