Bike Description
My Son had his Brand New Bike Stolen in Brighton last Saturday, which he bought from the Cycle to Work Scheme. He has since seen it listed as IN Manchester (we are not sure it is) on Ebay. He is 101% sure it is his bike and we have contacted Sussex Police and Ebay but it's not very easy. He has put in 2 offers to the seller but not accepted and he will not allow anyone to view or collect it! I wondered if perhaps that although it says it's listed in Manchester that maybe it is still in Sussex. Maybe someone might recognize the place it is pictured as it has two Fire Extinguishers shown in top right corner of the first picture...... which I know are placed or at least checked by the Fire Service. I have also contacted Manchester Fire Brigade and West Sussex too. It looks to me a bit like the floor grills are industrial types and to the right of the extinguishers there is a door. It (as far as we know) has now been listed 5 times at different amounts, would only send and no collection plus he would not when asked let anyone see it! The very last listing shows a picture of it on an upper balcony with an envelope on it saying "Ebay 19/6/16, the logo on it is from "Student Finance" we think the flats are student flats maybe in Manchester but we think it is very possibly Brighton! On Ebay it is listed as "Specialized Crosstrail Disc 2016" £369.99 Seller is iamnang_2 The trouble is only the Police can contact Ebay and get his info etc..... and Ebay won't do a thing! we are stuck really! We have spent days trying all sorts and I am so cross and Sad for my Son. The first Bike I bought him and his Sister to share got stolen in Worthing..... Now he manages to buy one for himself..... only manages one monthly payment so far and now that's stolen!! These people make my blood boil!!! When I have spent years trying to teach my 2 to be good citizens and we have gone without!!! But...... oh NO the Thieves have the Ebay treasure chest to use! It sadly appears that everyone just lets them! Sorry to rant on! I hope you don't mind me contacting you but any help or thoughts would be very much appreciated. Please look on Ebay for the pics of it. He knows it's his as he road it up on the Sussex Downs and he went down a hill coming off the front! So he has a couple of places he can see were done on the bike.....plus if you look it has chalk mixed with mud all over it!! Thank you for reading :) The bike has been sold now for £300 on Ebay. I got as far as going to the Police Resolutions Department (complaints) but as we apparently didn't have enough evidence they couldn't go further with a Warrant due to the person's "Human Rights". It was locked up in West Street, Brighton and the lock (chain not sure what you call it) was cut.....the padlock was left behind. The Police will not check it for finger prints! They will not contact Ebay and I am so very upset that both Ebay and the Police don't care :( I've tried to post an Image from my computer but it keeps getting a Red Cross.... sorry!
