Bike Description

MY BIKES WERE SPOTTED FOR SALE AT A CAR BOOT SALE IN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE. The guys selling were apparently Romanians living in Leicester. They had gone by the time the police arrived. The Scott was being sold for £800, the Trek for £300. They have either been sold or may try to sell them again. Please keep your eyes open for anyone that may have seemingly bought a bargain, or for them being offered for sale again, they may have even been dumped somewhere. A Matt black full carbon frame and forks that has lots of upgrades from standard. Details as follow..... Saturae C50 carbon clincher wheel set Fizik Aliante saddle black with Team Sky blue colouring on the rear right of the saddle, fitted with Fizik saddle bag containing multi toll, levers, tube, repair kit and valve adaptor. Pro Vibe Team Sky handlebars and head stem, black gel bar tape, double wrapped across the tops, not the drops. Blue stripe down the top of the stem with one small piece scratched off half way down, bars with blue stripe around the bar to the right of the stem as you look from the saddle. Ritchey carbon swat post. Elite Team Sky bottle cages. Shimano 105 10 speed group set. Chainset has an odd finish as the anodising shine was accidentally stripped when using the wrong cleaning detergent. Has a dirty, Matt looking finish to it now. Fitted with Shimano r540 sod pedals. Garmin cadence and speed sensor. Newly replaced read mech cable, from mech cable very short and closely cut to the mech, frayed at the end with no end cap. SRAM handle bar mount for Garmin Leyzene rear light on seat post. when taken, two stickers with my name on and Union Jack on both sides of the top tube near the saddle, on the thick section of the white flash of colour on the frame. The photo of the bike against a wall is not my bike but you can see the frame more clearly and the saddle and bar tape have a similar colour scheme. This bike was also taken with a black and green Trek 3500 MTB hard tail. Listing separately

Theft Description

At between 02:30 and 05:00 The thieves went over mine or my neighbours fence, took a long metal bar from their shed, went over my fence to the shed at the end of the garden and used the pole to rip the lock shackle our of the shed. They then took two of the 4 bikes. They presumably handed lifted these over the fence as the gate was padlocked shut. They also tried another shed in the street that contained bikes but could not get through the door.

Recovery Description

After an amazing response on Facebook, Twitter and Stolen-bikes.co.uk my bikes were spotted for a second time, in a car boot sale near Leamington Spa. Thanks to my unusual name, my distinctive bikes and the keen eyes of several people, both have been recovered almost intact. As I understand it a few bits were removed, but nothing that can't be replaced. Hopefully there isn't any damage. Also, having added my name using frame stickers, the theifs didn't think to remove them, making it easier for the eagle eyed car booter to find me on Facebook and confirm her suspicions! Over the moon is an understatement!
