Theft Description

Theft Location - Lower Sloane Street - London SW1W Bike was locked at front of building at basement level in London Lower Sloane Street ;  unfortunately main gate leading down stairs from main street, left open by neighbour for rubbish day collection ; bolt cutters used.

Recovery Description

Essentially I won the bid on the 'bay...and arranged to meet the seller. I kept the seller hooked as I said I was bringing cash along, and if that was OK for him ? of course it was ! I informed the police of my intentions, they tried to talk me out of it. In the end , they sent an undercover officer, and the trap was set. They caught the guy as the person was going over my bike trying to sell it to me. They arrested him, but eventually released him, and did not pursue a criminal conviction. But am glad to have persevered.
