Bike Description

brand new 2106 model Foxy R (new black/lime green colour scheme) All standard out of the box features no modifications (I only had it for 18 hours before it went off my locked Thule roof rack, I guess no one should assume those locks are enough). -  maxxis ardent tyres, Reverb dropper seat post ,  distinctive Mondraker forward geometry means that the main tube extends and curves near the handle bars. Taken in Gloucester Kingsholm square Saturday 31 Oct between 15:40 and 16:00

Theft Description

Parked right up in the far corner of Kingsholm square (a couple of rows of houses down from the rugby ground) for only thirty minutes. Bike on roof rack locked in by Thule clamp. They must have levered the clamp off with something. I was sitting in a friend's front garden looking out over the square. They must have gone round the opposite side of the square to get away. It seems likely that they followed us after seeing he bike on the roof either in the Forest of Dean or on our journey back. It was way too quick to be opportunists - hardly anyone goes into the square by accident and certainly not right up into the far right corner.

Recovery Description

Someone in the local area and associated with this site (really sorry, i cannot remember his name) was really active, watching out for signs of stolen bikes around gloucester. About 6 months after it was stolen he spotted my bike being wheeled into a house maybe 2 miles from where i live. He called Graham at Slam69 (where i bought it from) who rang me. They found the name of the perp on a private Facebook site about mountain biking. He was offering it for sale. I suggested to the police that i do a sting operation but they said they couldn't be involved with that. They said they knew the 16 year old lads dad from old (he was a well known felon). So then the police stroll up to their house and suggest that the bike was stolen, and remove it from their clutches. They then drop it off at my house . How awesome is that !!! thanks to everyone involved in its recovery. What a great community. Regards Steve
