Stolen Carrera bicycles Crossfire Limited Edition 2013

Bike Description

A silver and blue 21" frame Carrera Crossfire, straight handlebars and 21 speed shimano trigger shift gears. Has severe damage to left pedal, and lots of medium scratches to left hand side, including a 1" x 0.5" chunk of paint taken off front left fork. Pedals are plastic moulded blocks, not the stock metal ones, but all other components are as standard, although some have been replaced in the last 6 months. Some rusting to the brake cables sheaves. When stolen, Bike had wire cage-type bottle holder on main stem lugs, moulded plastic compact pump holder on bottom tube lugs, Lezyne light holders secured to handlebars and seat post (back light holder had a partially broken strap). Front and rear reflectors, wheel reflectors were all fitted. Wheels had quick-release sprung clamps.

Theft Description

Bike was secured to on-street lamppost in central York (Lawrence Street area) with a standard key-secured coil lock overnight. In the morning, I discovered theives had cut through the lock with bolt-cutters or something similar (mechanical lever-action cutters, not a rotating blade) and disappeared. Theft was part of a string of bike robberies in York that weekend, indicating an organised gang was responsible.
