Theft Description
My Cannondale Scalpel mountain bike was stolen from where I locked it, outside Clifton Down Shopping Centre (address below). The bike was left for a period of approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes between 14:30 - 17:15 on Monday May 18th, 2015.The bike was locked with an Abus 14mm fat lock; the lock went through frame and front wheel, locking it to the steel frame of the cycle parking structure. The lock shows clear signs that it was cut though cleanly, in one motion, probably using BIG bolt cutters.
On returning to the location I found the bicycle missing and the lock lying on the ground next to the cycle park, with my helmet still attached (I locked my helmet along with my bike).
I reported the theft immediately to shopping centre security staff and they are studying CCTV footage of the area to see whether the theft has been recorded.
