Bike Description

The bike itself has a large scrape on the left hand side of the bike in the black section of the paint, with a few scratches on the top tube. Specifically, on the top tube is a group of 3 scratches surrounded by numerous other smaller ones. There is mud across the bottom of the bike, as I had never given it a decent clean, so that may be gone. The left hand brake isn't very effective, but that may have also been sorted. The bike frame size is either 21" or 22". The gear change wasn't great, again, potentially sorted out.

Theft Description

During the half-term holidays, I was told to come back into school to catch up on my IT coursework that was to be finished by Thursday the 31st. On Tuesday the 29th, I came into school on my bike and arrived at school at roughly 9:30. We had a lunch break at 12 o'clock, so I took my bike back home to get something to eat. I got back at around 12:30, and left my bike in the school's bike shed. Now, here is my stupid mistake. I left my lock at home thinking that it was going to be fine as no-one is allowed through school outside of the open hours. Inside of the room where the coursework were to be completed, were roughly 15 other people, with only 3 of them that I know would take a bike, but I was good mates with them and they knew that I had my bike in the shed. They would constantly go outside to have a cigarette or two every 45 minutes or so, which is why I am suspicious of them. Then from 12:30 to roughly 3:10, I was doing my work and by the time I went to get my back back to cycle home, it had gone, no where to be seen. This resulted in me going to the caretakers to ask them to check the CCTV cameras, as that covers all entrances and exits to the bike shed, but none actually on it. I went back in the following day, and they said that there was NOTHING on the 24 hour surveillance. Then I went to check on the camera locations and positions, but they were at an acute enough angle so that it only covers one particular part of the school grounds. So I was very distraught about the school's security and complained to the caretakers passive aggressively to have a camera over the place where the most valuable things in school are. Since coming back from school, I've had a few people come up to me and say rather suspiciously "oh Chris, have you had your bike stolen?" but most of them joke about it. Every. Day.
