Bike Description

Make: Marin

Model: 700S Aluminium (but it's about 8 years old and many parts have been changed over the years)

Frame type: Aluminium

Colour: sliver (to grey)

Wheels: I think one is branded Shimano and the other isn’t

Tyres: Both tyres have Presta valves (the skinnier ones)

Pedals: entirely metal – I guess aluminium – with well worn small spikes to give grip

Saddle type: Brooks B33 saddle (worth more than the bike probably, and although it’s 18 months old it looks like new. It’s attached to the bike frame with a bike lock cable woven through the springs and around the frame of the bike with a big brass padlock).

Brakes: nothing distinctive

Mudguards: metal mudguards front and back – silver colour

Gear type: Shimano 3X6

Lights: There’s an old light fitting attached to the front handlebars – left hand side. I think the manufacturer is Lightstick. A cable (black and curly like a home phone cable) is plugged into the light and leads off along the frame to the sadle post. There are also attachments for lights front (X2) and back (X1 attached to the seat post I think). But I had removed those lights. There are lights attached to the front wheel (white) and back (red). These are magnet powered lights. If you start pedaling it they start flashing (same idea as the Boris bikes). These are bolted to the wheels with the magnets attached to the spokes.

Bell: yes – sliver – bit old and slightly rusty

Bottle holder: no

Bottle: no

Panniers/saddle bags: yes on the back - aluminium

The bike is security marked via theImmobilise website. The details logged there are as follows.

Identifier 1:MPS STC 00720 Identifier 2:886001 Identifier 3:F197BSE015 Was the bike locked? Yes

What type of lock and make of lock if known? 2 metre (ish) curly cable with a key lock. Made by Abus.

What methods of securing did you use? Cable wound around both wheels, through the frame and around the metal horizontal post of the railings.
