Bike Description

I am trying desperately to get the word out for more of a possibility of having it returned.

The bike was taken from the business park in Bromborough, outside of my place of work. The thieves went through a security fence and 2 bike locks on Friday 21st March 2014 at approximately 3pm, a couple of mins before I finished for the day.

The two subjects that I have got a description of are as follows:
18-24 years old white male, approx 5'11". He was wearing a grey hoodie at the time, dark hair, gaunt/crackhead looking face with really bad teeth and attitude to match. He was the one that stole the bike in question.
One of his accomplices, who stole a black solid frame and fork mountain bike from outside the same location, was a younger white male, 16-20 years old, with an acne ridden or spotty face.

I chased 3 hooded youths with the assistance of police officers, down Stadium Road behind the retail park and Asda up to Port Sunlight through Spital. They went along the cycle path that is behind the Lever Brothers site and running parallel to Bromborough Road. I then lost them around Port Sunlight train station area and the police took over the pursuit. One of the thieves dumped a third bike in a grassy area within Port Sunlight near The Causeway after getting a flat tyre, he made off on foot through alleyways.

The bike is a 2004 model Kona Stinky. Small (15") frame in orange and black. There is an inner tube wrapped round the chain stay to stop the chain slapping against it and is secured with zip-ties.
The forks are white 2009 160mm RST Storm air forks (de-branded with minimal sticking on them), and the rear suspension is a Fox Vanilla R shock with a Nukeproof spring.
The wheels consist of a Superstar front hub on a Halo Combat rim with a 2.4" Continental Mountain King tyre and 203mm brake rotor.
The rear is a Shimano Deore hub on a Halo Combat rim with a 2.2" Continental Rubber Queen tyre and 203mm brake rotor. Both wheels have 4 spoke with reflective plastic on them in a cross pattern.

The controls are Funn bars with Superstar grips (Red lock rings and grey grip). The brakes are Hayes Stroker hydraulics both front and rear.
The drivetrain consists of a SRAM X9 deraileur, SRAM X7 shifter. E13 chain guide with a metallic blue E13 single chainring on the front and a 9 speed shimano cassette to the rear.

The frame and forks have been dinged up as a well loved mountain bike should be, and have been either touched up with the appropriate coloured paint or covered with self adhesive inner tube patches.

This bike was my pride and joy, and I have placed a significant investment in both time and money in it. It was my main method of transport to and from work and I had newly purchased the frame, didnt even think about noting down the frame number yet :'(

I can not believe that some obviously idiotic, uncultured plebeians think it acceptable in todays society to not work hard to get what they want, and to just take what other people have strived to gain instead.

Please keep an eye out for it either around on the street or if offered up for sale. If any further information is available please contact the Merseyside Police under crime reference number: 0514056346.

I am offering a reward for the return of, or any information leading to its return.
